José de Lima Massano, who was speaking this Friday at the opening of the Angola-China Business Forum (FONAC), as part of 40 years of cooperation and bilateral relations between both countries, said that the country will continue with reforms that contribute to the economic and inclusive growth.

"Angola, with the economic stability it has been experiencing and consolidating over the years, will maintain the course of reforms that contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic growth", said the official.

The minister recalled the recent announcement of the set of measures to stimulate and boost the country's economy, referring that these emphasize the "mandatory incorporation of goods made in Angola and public investment projects".

"We believe that the investment, technology and knowledge of the companies represented here gain a new market for action and opportunities for strengthening partnerships", he stressed, auguring more investments from Chinese businessmen.

"We therefore have more investments for food production, for housing, for the manufacturing industry, for trade and the development of logistical chains to support development, in mining and in training and professional training", he pointed out.

FONAC, organized by the Chinese Embassy in Angola, the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Chinese Companies in Angola, brings together several Angolan and Chinese businessmen in Luanda to reflect on the cooperation of four decades.

Massano welcomed the initiative of the business community of both countries, stressing that the strategic cooperation between Luanda and Beijing is guided by "mutual respect, cordiality and friendship between our two countries and peoples".

"The cooperation is opportune because we begin to build the next 40 years with an agenda that highlights and seeks to consolidate the business role in the continuous construction of bridges, which connects us in the vision of harmonious economic and social development", he pointed out.

Angola "maintains a course of reforms that aim to improve the business environment, established in the macroeconomic framework capable of establishing stability and predictability", he stressed.

According to the minister, the country has a "legal system that provides business security and market rules that privilege healthy competition, competitiveness and innovation".

According to José de Lima Massano, despite the "still strong dependence on the oil sector", Angola has privileged natural conditions for the development of a broad and diversified economy.

He considered that a broad development base, "with an emphasis on food security", will make it possible to give consistency to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), both by meeting the most pressing needs of citizens and by creating more opportunities for income generation and social inclusion.

"This binomial, between economic growth and social development, is a premise for the sustainability of nations, which is why we defend that, when resorting to business actions and forming new partnerships in this business forum, the social role that is reserved should be kept in mind, as business women and men", concluded the minister.

Angola and China officially established diplomatic relations on January 12, 1983 and have maintained a strategic partnership for thirteen years.

China, the main destination for Angolan oil production, is the African country's biggest trading partner.
