The inaugural flight left the capital at 7:00 am to 'Manuel Quarta Mpunza' airport, in Uíge. According to Angop, the trip – carried out in a Dash8-400 plane – took a total of 65 people.
To keep this route operational, the national airline has scheduled two flights a week: on Mondays and Fridays.
Departures are scheduled to take place from 7:00 am, with arrival at 7:45 am. The return is scheduled for 8:30 am, landing at 9:15 am.
At this initial stage, tickets are being sold at a promotional price, worth 9500 kwanzas, writes Angop.
With the return of operations to Uíge, the province becomes TAAG's 14th domestic air route. It thus joins the list already made up of the provinces of Zaire, Namibe, Cunene, Cuando Cubango, Moxico, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Bié, Benguela, Cabinda, Huíla and Huambo.
