Foreign Direct Investment in Angola is led by the United Arab Emirates

The list of the 10 countries that invest the most in Angola is led by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to a report by the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), the top 10 of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Angola is headed by the UAE, with an investment of around 351.7 million dollars.

The report – referring to the period from 2018 to March this year and which is based on a list of 48 countries that invest in Angola – also points out that in the period in question the value of FDI stood at 2.7 billion dollars.

According to the document, quoted by Angop, the silver is awarded to the United Kingdom, which appears in second place in the top 10. This country has an investment of 283.1 million dollars, with eight projects in the pipeline.

The last place on the podium is occupied by China, with 225 million dollars and 24 projects under execution.

According to the report, fourth place goes to Germany (investment of 93.6 million dollars and four projects).

The table also includes France with 36.8 million dollars and three projects and Belgium with 24.5 million dollars and two projects.

Also noteworthy are Hong Kong (20.5 million dollars and two projects, Portugal (19.2 million dollars and 45 projects) and Eritrea (12 million dollars).

According to the note, quoted by Angop, the last place belongs to Switzerland (10 million dollars).

The projects with FDI concern the sectors of mining, financial activity, telecommunications, civil construction, education, health, tourism, fishing, agriculture, commerce and industry, writes Angop.

It was possible to create more than 34 thousand jobs for national citizens and 2800 for expatriates with the investments and execution of the projects.

According to the report, in the period under analysis, the country totaled US$5.5 billion and 469 projects in domestic (32.36 percent), mixed (18.89 percent) and foreign (48. 72 percent).
