According to the governor, Luanda registered the highest number of positive cases, 300, followed by the provinces of Zaire (47), Huambo (19), Huíla (15), Cabinda (9), Benguela (9), Lunda Sul (3) and the provinces of Cunene, Malanje and Uige with one case each.
Franco Mufinda regretted the growing number of positive cases in the country and called on citizens for "strict compliance" with biosecurity measures.
Angola, which has been in a situation of public calamity for a year, with its 13th extension in force, now has a total of 33,338 cases, of which 742 deaths, 27,467 recovered from the disease and 5129 active cases.
The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 3,487,457 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 167.7 million cases of infection, according to an assessment by the French agency AFP.
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
