Tenth edition of the Benguela International Fair kicks off with 130 exhibitors

The world has changed but there are things that do not change. The Benguela International Fair is back, maintaining the objective that has characterized it for ten editions: promoting the inclusion of national promotion.

In an initiative by Eventos Arena with the support of the Provincial Government of Benguela, the event opens this Thursday at the Ombaka National Stadium. Companies involved in the agriculture, agribusiness, fisheries, banking, civil construction and food and beverages sectors participate.

The FIB, as it is also known, will take place between the 27th and the 30th of May, being this year responsible for the creation of more than 90 indirect jobs. The objective is to promote and develop the economic and industrial potential of the southern region of the country, attracting national and international investments capable of supporting the development of the region by bringing together the main social economic agents, says a statement sent to VerAngola by the organization.

In the coming days, a "considerable number of visitors" is expected, with 130 exhibitors confirmed for this edition.

The fair will have a medical unit, fire department, police station, restaurants, conference room, parking for more than 3000 vehicles, taxi service. "Among other amenities, exhibitors and visitors will have the opportunity to share opinions, present services and products in the same space", adds the document.

Tickets are being sold at the venue at a price of 500 kwanzas, and children under 14 have free access, provided they are accompanied by an adult.

The 10th edition of the FIB will host some events in parallel:

Book launch: "Anthropology of hope in times of digital enlightenment and pandemic";
Exhibition "Um Olhar through the lens for Angola", by Sidney Ferreira;
South Angola business exchange: challenges and opportunities, promoted by INAPEM;
Workshop on business opportunities with the BDA: Financial products for the agricultural sector; Deutsche Bank credit line;
Workshop: "Benguela, a tourist destination of reference in Angola: Perspective view (2021-2025)" (with the Municipal Directorate of Hospitality and Tourism of Benguela);
Poultry Diseases - Prevention and Control (with the Benguela Cattle Breeders' Cooperative).
