Angolan body found missing in shipwreck

The corpse of the young man missing on Sunday, during the sinking of a recreational craft, at the mouth of the Kwanza River, municipality of Belas, Luanda province, was rescued this Tuesday by a search and rescue team.

According to the spokesman for the National Civil Protection and Fire Service, Faustino Miguêns, the 23-year-old citizen, the only one of the five who lost his life in this accident, was found about 40 kilometres from the place where he disappeared, specifically the Miradouro da Lua region.

Faustino Miguêns, quoted by Angop, said the search and rescue team was made up of 25 specialists from the fire department, the Luanda Port Authority and the Angolan Air Force's Fiscal Police, supported by helicopters.

Esténio Joanes Cruz André was the only one of the five elements of the vessel not wearing the life jacket when the engine broke down, with a wave projecting all the occupants into the sea.
