The French diplomat, Sylvan Itté, was this Tuesday the bearer of a letter from Emmanuel Macron to his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço.

In statements to the press, Sylvan Itté said that cooperation between the two countries is one of President Macron's priorities.

Sylvan Itté said the hearing with João Lourenço served to "confirm to the Angolan authorities the commitment and willingness of the French government and President Macron to continue strengthening and reinforcing cooperation with Angola".

"Especially at this difficult time, which is difficult for the whole world", reinforced the French diplomat.

According to the French Ambassador to Angola, at the meeting he also discussed with the President the issue of the debt moratorium for African countries until the end of the year, stressing that Angola is one of the countries that can benefit from this support.

"But apart from this issue of the moratorium until the end of the year, France also wants the broader issue of debt restructuring for African countries among the issues on the table," he stressed.
