According to the accounts of Pedro Silveira, Deputy General Manager of the project, last year Quiminha registered an annual production of 35 thousand tons. Cited by Angop, he also made it known that the tons produced in 2019 yielded 190 million kwanzas per month for the project.
Quiminha's Integrated Agricultural and Regional Development Project has faced difficulties in recent times in acquiring some raw materials, however, optimism is still present: despite the adversities that have occurred, the project has managed to meet the established production targets.
Created by the Executive to integrate 300 families that worked in that area, Quiminha was also thought to help the national economy to grow and to contribute to the increase of vegetable supply in the capital.
With more than five thousand hectares, the project is composed of 64 business farms and 11 other smaller farms, which produce, both in greenhouses and open air, various vegetables - such as onions, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, potatoes, among others.
The project started in 2012 and is managed by Agro Quiminha and the Israeli company Tahal, since Quiminha is the result of a partnership between Angola and the Israelis.
