The required documents, submitted by the representatives of Abel Chivukuvuku's candidacy, will now be assessed for validation.
The deadline for submitting applications is the 25th of this month, with an additional five days to correct any errors.
"The mandates committee expects interested parties to present their candidacies and so far has only received an indication of a manifestation of willingness. If some other citizens are preparing to do the same, we will be here to welcome them," said the vice-coordinator for the mandates committee, Aurélio Kanjamba.
Candidacies are free, recalled Aurélio Kanjamba, and the holding of the congress establishes rules, with party members aware of the requirements for candidacy.
PRA-JA Servir Angola was legalized in October 2024, after a process marked by several failures by the Constitutional Court.
Abel Chivukuvuku, the general coordinator of PRA-JA Servir Angola, was a leader of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), the largest opposition party, from which he left and later led the creation of the Broad Convergence for the Salvation of Angola – Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE).
The project to create Abel Chivukuvuku's new political organization began in 2018, with Podemos Juntos por Angola (Podemos-JA), which was rejected by the Constitutional Court, and moved to a new stage, with the presentation, in 2019, of PRA-JA Servir Angola, also rejected, in 2020, by the same court, culminating in its legalization four years later.
