On behalf of the coordination of this candidacy, the deputy general coordinator for political affairs of the provisional steering committee of PRA-JA Servir Angola, Xavier Jaime, said that the documentation will be delivered on the 16th of this month to the competent body that directs the party's constituent congress, to be held between the 19th and 22nd of May.
According to Xavier Jaime, Sebastião NLuta is the representative of Abel Chivukuvuku's candidacy, with the electoral campaign being led by João Quipipa Dias, assisted by Délcio Bunga, Joaquim Sambangala and Pedro Chivukuvuku.
Speaking to Lusa, Xavier Jaime said that the candidacies are free, with Abel Chivukuvuku being the first, to date.
"Those who feel they are in a position to do so can submit their candidacy to the competent body. So far, he is the only one [Abel Chivukuvuku] who has expressed his intention," he highlighted.
Xavier Jaime said that the announcement of Abel Chivukuvuku's candidacy was made this Wednesday deliberately and with a purpose, but this procedure is not mandatory, and other candidates who meet the requirements of the statute for this purpose may emerge on the 16th.
PRA-JA Servir Angola was legalized in October 2024, after a process that began in 2019, marked by several rejections by the Constitutional Court.
