According to a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access, the person in charge was dismissed after João Lourenço heard the National Security Council.
"The President of the Republic, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, under the terms of the Constitution of the Republic of Angola, the National Defense and Armed Forces Law, after hearing the National Security Council, dismisses Brigadier Daniel Raimundo Savihemba from the post of commander of the Ad-hoc Verification Mechanism for the pacification of the Eastern Region of the Democratic Republic of Congo", says the note.
The statement also recalls that Brigadier Daniel Raimundo Savihemba had been appointed "by Presidential Decree No. 290/24, of December 20".
