Pitta Grós says that more than 100 billion were withdrawn from the public purse

Hélder Pitta Grós, Attorney General of the Republic, revealed that more than 100 billion dollars were withdrawn from the public treasury and transferred abroad.

Civil construction, public works, oil and diamonds were the sectors most affected, said the prosecutor.

Speaking at the opening of the International Conference on Asset Recovery, Pitta Grós also took the opportunity to recall that, in recent years, assets, both financial and non-financial, worth more than five billion dollars.

In addition, it also made it known that, since 2017, in some cases and arrests, movable property, established with public funds in the order of about 12 billion dollars, of which about 6.7 billion in Angola and the remaining abroad, writes to Angop.

In turn, Adão de Almeida, Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, highlighted the country's experience in asset recovery, classifying it as "remarkable and encouraging".
