According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense and Homeland Veterans, quoted by Angop, the start of the meeting was chaired by Norman Chipakupaku, permanent secretary of the Zambian Ministry of Defence.

José Maria de Lima, Secretary of State for National Defense of the Ministry of National Defense and Homeland Veterans, also co-chairs the meeting, writes Angop.

This meeting serves as preparation for the ministerial meeting that will take place next Friday, April 8th, and in which, according to the statement, the national delegation will be led by the minister of National Defense and Veterans of the Homeland, João Ernesto dos Santos, and the Zambian delegation will be led by the Honorable Ambrose Lufuma, holder of the Defense portfolio in that country.

It should be noted that the previous meeting (32nd Meeting of the Permanent Joint Commission on Defense and Security) took place in 2019, in Luanda.
