Covid-19: country registers 148 new infections and 22 people recovered in 24 hours

The country recorded 148 new infections of the new coronavirus and 22 recoveries, with no deaths, in the last 24 hours, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health.

The positive cases are distributed in Luanda (145), Huíla (2), and Cabinda (1), being 78 males and 70 females, with ages between 1 month and 86 years old, and the recoveries were reported 19 in Luanda, three in Huíla, in people from 2 to 88 years old.

With the data from the last 24 hours, Angola added 23,697 positive cases, 554 deaths, 22,115 recovered and 1028 active cases, of which four critical, 14 severe, 55 moderate, 38 mild and 917 asymptomatic, with 111 people hospitalized, 46 others in institutional quarantine and 1189 contacts under epidemiological surveillance.

Regarding the work of laboratories, in the period in reference 2017 samples were processed by RT-PRC, pointing the cumulative to 461,626 samples processed to date, with a positivity rate of 5.1 percent.

At the entry and exit points of Luanda, 803 people were tested on the basis of rapid serological tests, with the antigen complementation in reactive cases.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,947,319 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 136.5 million cases of infection, according to an assessment made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
