The information is contained in the balance of the National Police on the public security situation in the last 72 hours, noting that the arrests, the first that authorities disclose, occurred as a result of a public complaint.

According to the police note, those involved were selling the vaccines to foreign citizens, who are not part of the priority list of the National Vaccination Plan, for 10,000 kwanzas.

In addition to the vaccines, the suspects are also accused of selling the vaccine card, as well as proof of the covid-19 test for 5000 kwanzas.

Angola has so far registered 25,609 cases, 579 deaths and 23,092 cases of recovery from the disease.

The country launched its National Vaccination Plan on March 2 this year, which foresees by the first half of this year to cover 6.4 million inhabitants aged 40 and over and comorbidities at risk, as well as population with continuous exposure, having already vaccinated 456,349 people, according to data released Friday.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 3,100,659 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 146.3 million cases of infection, according to an assessment made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
