PGR seizes housing projects built with funds from Sonangol. Former governor involved

The Angolan Attorney General's Office (PGR) announced the seizure of several housing projects, built with public funds, including a project whose actual beneficiary was the former governor of Benguela, Isaac Maria dos Anjos.

Isaac Maria dos Anjos has been the secretary of President João Lourenço for the productive sector since 2017.

According to a note made public, housing projects were seized in the provinces of Malanje, Benguela and Luanda by the National Asset Recovery Service of the PGR.

In Luanda, Malanje and Benguela, five housing projects were seized, namely Tambarino Project (Lobito, Benguela), Palanca Negra (Malanje), Mifongo Project (Malanje) and the Ex-Petro projects, in Golf II and Nova Vida III, both in Luanda .

The PGR note said that the housing projects "were built with funds from the state oil company Sonangol" and that they are delivered to the company Prumo - Empreendimentos e Materiais de Construção Lda, whose actual beneficiary is Carlos Gil Cunha, former director of Cooperativa Cajueiro.

The National Asset Recovery Service of PGR also seized in the Benguela province the Project Acácias Rubras, "built with public funds", which is handed over to the company Rempros Lda, whose effective beneficiary was the former governor of the province, Isaac Maria dos Anjos .

As part of a proceeding in the PGR against the former chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Savings and Credit (BPC), Paixão Júnior, the Prosecutor's Office also seized containers of material for the assembly of a yogurt factory in Benguela, which was delivered to the Smart Solution company.
