UAN develops prototypes of ventilation fans, visors and remote door opening mechanisms

The Faculty of Engineering of the Agostinho Neto University (UAN) decided to help fight the pandemic. To this end, a group of engineers from Angola's largest university developed prototypes of fans, visors and other mechanisms that help reduce the risks of contagion.

According to a note published by the instuction and to which VerAngola had access, the team is developing several projects: fan prototypes, visors, remote door opening mechanisms, among others.

The first two prototypes, concerning fans and visors - which are being produced in 3D models - were presented last Friday to the Interministerial Commission for the Fight against covid-19. The prototypes were "submitted to INIS (National Institute for Health Research), under the Ministry of Health, for approval, after their validation by the National Directorate of Medicines and Equipment".

The group of engineers is also developing remote door and window opening mechanisms to reduce the risk of contagion from covid-19 and other infections, and is in the process of designing sanitization units for public spaces, as a way of contributing to the disinfestation of these places.
