“Taking into account local medical conditions, I shared the simplest but also most practical treatment experiences,” said Huang Xiaobo, director of the Intensive Care Unit at the Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital.

According to a statement from the Government of Sichuan, a province in southwest China, the expert said he hoped the symposium would have helped doctors in Angola, which is "in an early stage" of prevention and control, to get to know the new coronavirus better.

The national director of Public Health, Helga Freitas, considered that the conference, held over the Internet, will be very useful for the country.

The symposium brought together doctors from the hospital in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, who were at the forefront in the prevention and treatment of covid-19.

The experts spoke about the diagnosis of the disease, namely through Computed Axial Tomography (CAT), the type of food and psychological support to be given to patients and methods of maintaining public health.

According to the Chinese authorities, the conference was organized by the Sichuan Provincial Health Commission, at the request of the Angolan Ministry of Health, with the support of the Chinese embassy in Angola.

The statement stressed that the two countries have been cooperating “intensively” in the prevention and control of the pandemic.

According to the Sichuan Health Commission, since 2009 the province has sent five medical teams to Angola, where they treated almost 400,000 patients.
