Sonangol launches public tender to sell stakes in nine companies

The National Fuel Society of Angola (Sonangol) launched, this Thursday, an international public tender with a view to divesting its stakes in nine companies.

:

The advertisements for the tenders - to which Angop had access - mention companies such as Sociedade Petromar, from which the oil company wants to dispose of 30 percent of its capital. Sonatide Marine Limited and Sonatide Marine Angola Limitada are also on the list, for a sale of 51 percent of the capital in each of these companies. This is followed by Sonameta Industrial S.A and Sonarcergy - Serviços e Construções Petrolíferas, Lda, of which Sonangol belongs to sell 40 percent of the capital of each.

The list continues with the sale of stakes in Paenal - Porto Amboim Estaleiros Navais (10 percent), SBM Shipyard (33 percent), Sonadiets LDA (30 percent) and Sonadiets Services, S.A. (30 percent).

The sale of these stakes is part of the company's privatization program, and the public tender will be conducted by the Negotiation Committee for the Disposal Process of Sonangol's Quota in the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Segment.

Candidates are required to obtain qualification documents, under the terms of the tender program, as well as a provisional bond between seven and fifteen thousand dollars (or the equivalent in kwanzas, at the BNA exchange rate).

Applications will be submitted in the short term, but with different timings, depending on each share to be sold. Applications to participate in Petromar must be submitted by 30 May, with the proposal to be submitted by 23 July.

With regard to Sonatide Marine Limited and Sonatide Marine Angola, the deadlines are 15 May for applications and 15 June for submission of proposals.

The privatization program includes a total of 54 Sonangol stakes to be sold in Angola and abroad. In January this year, the oil company launched a public tender for the sale of stakes in six companies linked to the tourism and travel industry with activities in Angola, Portugal, USA and France.
