According to a statement, to which agency Lusa had access this Wednesday, the three staff of the PIR are assigned to the provincial command of Lunda Norte and were found in uniforms in the garimpo area, although they were off duty.
The document emphasized that the victims "were neutralized" and referred to the municipal command of Lucapa, by security guards of the company K&P, ex-Projecto Mineiro Yetwene, located in the municipality of Camissombo.
The event took place between 18 and 20 March, according to information from the local command of the PIR, and the situation was known to the commander of the forces who, however, did not inform the provincial command of the National Police.
The delegation from the Ministry of the Interior stressed in the communiqué that it became aware of the incident "in a surprising way through social networks.
Those involved were arrested for investigation and disciplinary mechanisms were put in place against the respective force commander, and an investigation was also set up to ascertain the truth of the facts and find the perpetrators of the attacks against the three officers of the PIR.
Photographs and a video showing the fact, namely one of the officers in handcuffs, and the aggressors, have been circulating since Tuesday on social networks.
