Diagnoses of this disease are dominated by children under five years of age, the official pointed out.

Viegas de Almeida justified that among the causes that contribute to the spread of malaria are, for example, poor basic sanitation, reflected in the fact that there is a lot of vegetation, stagnant water and solid waste in backyards and on some streets, writes Angop.

He also said that "medical teams and partners" are working to raise awareness among citizens about this disease.

"The medical teams and partners have done everything to raise awareness among families to observe measures to prevent this disease", said the director of the Provincial Health Office who, cited by Angop, also left an appeal to citizens to give priority to hygiene as prevention of this pathology and to consult health services in a timely manner.

In addition to malaria, he also pointed out that the sector is concerned about the rupture of the blood supply, adding that 25 blood transfusions are carried out every day.
