The Council of Ministers gave the 'green light' to the proposed law that amends the status of former Presidents of the Republic, in aspects related to their rights, duties and immunities.

The document was approved this Thursday, at the third ordinary session of the Council of Ministers, which was chaired by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, and where an agenda of eight was discussed, according to a note from the Presidency of the Republic, to which the VerAngola had access.

"The collegiate body of the Government approved, at its level, the proposal for a law that amends the Statute of Former Presidents of the Republic, in aspects related to their rights, duties and immunities", reads the communiqué, which adds that "the diploma, which goes to the National Assembly with a view to its final approval, is also applicable to former vice-presidents of the Republic".

At the session, the body also approved a regulation that "establishes the Unofficial Military Census, a document that aims to promote integration and intercommunication between public services, change the current registration procedure in person, eliminating the need for citizen intervention in the act of military census, thus materializing the measures resulting from the SIMPLIFICA 1.0 Project", adds the note.

Planagrão was also on the table. According to the communiqué, another of the measures relating to the session was related to "the definition of the main tasks of the Multisectoral Commission for Supervision of the National Grain Plan (PLANAGRÃO) and the delegation of regulatory powers to its coordinator".

In addition, the body was also informed about "irregularities and illegalities detected in the process of access to higher education in the current academic year (2022-2023)", as well as "the measures applied by the responsible ministry, depending on the seriousness of the infringements", with the sector being encouraged to "reinforce inspection and fight against such practices".
