Country controls 14 hemodialysis centers and more than 2000 patients

The Secretary of State for the hospital sector, Leonardo Inocêncio, informed that the country controls 14 hemodialysis centers and a total of 2330 patients with kidney problems.

According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Health, to which VerAngola Angola had access, the official – who was speaking this Thursday, March 9, within the scope of activities for World Kidney Day – stressed that the country "already has the capacity to perform more than eight thousand hemodialysis sessions per week, a procedure that did not happen in past years when hospitalized patients were waiting for a vacancy in the dialysis services".

The Secretary of State also mentioned that the guardianship "has been working on the aspect of prevention", which makes it possible to "reach the early diagnosis of patients suffering from kidney disease, whose response is limited to the construction of several hemodialysis centers in all provinces". .

The note also adds that Leonardo Inocêncio "took advantage of the date to make the population aware of the actions to prevent the main causes that motivate kidney failure, such as malaria, high blood pressure and diabetes mellitus".
