On the occasion, the Secretary of State, cited by Angop, based the deadline for its execution on the fact that it was intended to do a good job and favor the ongoing process, at international level, which aims to exclude pollution by plastic bags at the end of next year.

The official also said that they will benefit from "inputs from what happens at an international level" so that the plan "is current" and manages to respond to needs. "We want exactly, as we are going to draw up our plan, we are going to benefit from inputs from what happens at an international level so that it is current and can respond to our needs", he said, quoted by Angop.

He also referred that, until then, there is no possibility of knowing the amount of plastics produced in the country, however, one of the elements of the elaboration of the plan will make it possible to know the volumes manufactured as well as their main types, writes Angop.

In addition, Abias Moma Huongo considered that the study will simplify the choice of measures to eliminate plastics and, consequently, replace them with another article. "If we want to ban it, the entrepreneur has to do something else to be suggested based on the studies, to safeguard his work and the direct and indirect jobs generated", he said, quoted by Angop.

Although it falls under the national domain, in this period studies will be carried out aimed at a dozen provinces, according to the volume of waste they generate, the official also informed, who did not list which provinces they are, says Angop.

According to a note from the Ministry of the Environment, to which VerAngola had access, the meeting was chaired by the Minister of the Environment, Ana Paula de Carvalho, as deputy coordinator of the commission, and served to assess "the work plan and the respective budget, collection of contributions of the terms of reference for the constitution of the technical unit and, appreciation and collection of contributions of the proposed operating regulation".

At the meeting, which took place this Thursday in the meeting room of the Environment Fund, representatives of the Ministries of Education, Trade and Industry, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Transport, as well as national directors and heads of departments were present. of the Ministry of the Environment.

It should be recalled that the President of the Republic created a working group to draw up the National Plan to Ban Plastics, aimed at "dealing with environmental degradation" and regulating the way plastics are produced and used.
