According to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), in the first phase, in that province, the initiative will benefit more than 5000 peasant families, who will have the direct support of the Bank of Commerce and Industry (BCI).
Quoted by RNA, Jardel Duarte, executive director of BCI, left the guarantee that they are "here to support": "We are here to support what concerns all the services that banking has available", he said.
"We, as BCI, have every interest in supporting this sector, which undoubtedly comes first to support the diversification of the economy, but secondly also comes to strengthen the skills that these people bring us in terms of technical knowledge", added Jardel Duarte, quoted by RNA.
According to RNA, the aforementioned initiative has already been implemented in six provinces, and the director of agronomy at Carrinho Agri, Ademir da Silva, was satisfied with the results achieved. "We are very happy to see this harvest of the first fruits in agriculture here in Huambo. The producer is very satisfied and is integrated into our project", he said, quoted by RNA.
In turn, the farmer Pinto Bulica, from Chipipa commune (Huambo), who benefits from the programme, said he believed in the initiative.
"The project is of great interest because in fact we had support not only in terms of seeds, but we also had support" at a technological level, with follow-up "at the level of our production areas", he said, quoted by RNA.
