Bodiva held fourth forum focused on the ‘Growing Market’

The Angolan Debt and Stock Exchange (Bodiva) held, this Wednesday morning, in the capital, the fourth edition of the Bodiva Forum, under the theme 'The Growing Market'.

Bodiva refers, in a statement sent to VerAngola, that the event was aimed at "the presentation of the Bodiva Market Report for the year 2022, the debate between market players on relevant topics, the awarding of players with the best performance, as well as such as the launch of Revista A Bolsa".

The forum took place at the Hotel Intercontinental, lasting three hours and with the "presence of around 150 guests, made up of senior executives from the financial and business sector", with the opening being in charge of the chairman of the Board of Directors of Bodiva, Valentina Filipe.

"The Growing Market reflects for us the dedication and persistence of all the players in the market, which gives us the confidence that we will continue to develop the market, and thus contribute to the growth of our economy", said the Chairman of the Board of Directors, cited in the note.

The reference to the figures for last year was made by the executive director Odair Costa, who at the time indicated that "in 2022, 5,746 trades were carried out in the regulated markets under the management of Bodiva, moving a total of 1,564,805,960.66 kwanzas, the which represents an increase of 60.20 percent over the same period".

In addition to the presentation of the Market Report, the note goes on, the event also featured two debate panels, moderated by João Armando.

The first panel was about 'Growth of the Equity Market in the SADC Region', with the participation of the CEO of the Mozambican Stock Exchange, Salim Valá, the CEO of the Cape Verde Stock Exchange, Miguel Monteiro, and the PCE of Bodiva, Walter Pacheco. The second panel was on the 'Stock Market and Sustainable Financing', with the participation of the PCE of Banco Caixa Geral Angola, the Sustainability Director of Hemera Capital, Carina Costa, and the President of the Executive Committee of the International Investment Bank (IIBANK), Francisco Ferreira.

"Both debates provided moments of reflection, debate and, above all, the sharing of experiences between the speakers, and consequently, the guests of the event", adds the statement.

Bodiva also refers that, as in previous editions, during the event, "players in the Angolan Securities Market, whose performance contributed to significant advances in the market throughout 2022, had five new categories, as a result of activation of the Stock Exchange Market, and with the aim of distinguishing innovation from the market".

It was also announced a "new category to be awarded in 2024, to the media that stands out the most in its publications on the National Capital Market", completes the statement.
