Inflation rate stood at 11.54 percent in February, down 15.74 points

The inflation rate recorded a decrease of 15.74 percentage points in February 2023 compared to the same period of 2022, settling at 11.54 percent, according to the National Consumer Price Index (IPCN).

According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), the IPCN, relative to last month, recorded a variation of 0.86 percent from January to February 2023.

"Comparing the monthly variations (January to February 2023) there is an acceleration of 0.03 percentage points, whereas, in year-on-year terms (February 2022 to February 2023), there is a deceleration in the current variation of 0. 91 percentage points", says the document.

The provinces that registered the lowest variation in prices were Bengo, with 0.61 percent, Lunda-Sul, with 0.71 percent, and Cuando Cubango, with 0.73 percent, while they registered the greatest variation in prices in the Zaire, with 1.13 percent, Namibe, with 1.06 percent, and Cunene, with 1.05 percent.

The Health class was the one that recorded the biggest price increase, with a variation of 1.88 percent, with emphasis also on price increases in the Apparel and Footwear classes, with 1.86 percent, Miscellaneous Goods and Services, with 1 .41 percent, and Hotels, Cafes and Restaurants, with 1.33 percent.
