"We are very happy to welcome Angola as the most recent member of the Global Forum", said the president of this entity, Gaël Perraud, adding that "the growing number of adhesions to the Forum shows the importance that is being given to budget transparency by the international community and demonstrates the commitment of governments to join efforts in the fight against tax fraud and evasion".

Like other members, Angola will participate on an equal footing and is committed to combating tax evasion through overseas tax havens and implementing internationally agreed information exchange standards upon specific requests (EOIR) and automatic information exchange financial accounting (AEOI), points out on the OECD website.

In addition, "Angola will also join the Africa Initiative, a work program launched in 2014 to support domestic fiscal mobilization and the fight against licit financial flows in Africa through improvements in budget transparency and information exchange".

The Global Forum is one of the main entities mandated by States to ensure that jurisdictions around the world adhere to and effectively implement both the harmonized information exchange and the standard information exchange process. concludes that member states also benefit from a program of technical assistance and training in the application of these initiatives.
