Project to modernize the national air navigation system budgeted at 25 million is launched this week

Next Tuesday, March 22, the project to modernize the national air navigation system will be launched. Budgeted at 25 million dollars, this project mainly aims to increase the attraction of new customers and boost revenue from the aviation sector in the country.

According to a statement sent to VerAngola, the official launch of the agreement between the Ministry of Transport and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) also covers the training of national staff: "This agreement for the modernization of the air navigation system and for its complete alignment with the standards and practices recommended by the ICAO, it also includes training for Angolan staff, aimed, above all, at increasing the capture of new customers and boosting revenues from the aviation sector in Angola", the note reads.

The agreement is valued at 25 million dollars and "contains the acquisition of automatic surveillance systems, the installation and commissioning of mobile communications systems, data communication systems and navigation aids, as well as a air traffic (ATC) for the modernization of the Training Center".

In addition, according to the statement, this agreement also involves training staff from the National Air Navigation Company (ENNA) as well as "assistance in the process of migrating from procedural control to radar vectoring".

The implementation of this new equipment will allow ENNA and the country to fully embrace ICAO's objectives and strategies regarding the capacity and efficiency of international air navigation.

The official launch of the agreement will take place at the Hotel Epic Sana, at 2:30 pm, and will be attended by Ricardo Viegas D'Abreu, Minister of Transport, ICAO representatives, among other guests.
