United Patriotic Front will have a “harmonization meeting” with provincial officials

The United Patriotic Front (FPU), a political platform that brings together the UNITA, Bloco Democrático and the PRA-JÁ Servir Angola project, will bring together provincial officials from the three forces to “harmonize” procedures and ways of working.

The announcement was made this Wednesday, in Luanda, by the leader of the political project PRA-JÁ Servir Angola, Abel Chivukuvuku, after a meeting with the organizing committee of the "Pensar Angola" congress, which takes place on 27 and 28 May.

"Within the scope of the United Patriotic Front, we will have a harmonization seminar on the 1st and 2nd of April. As we are three political forces with their own identity and operating rules, we are going to bring to Luanda all the provincial officials of UNITA, PRA-JÁ political project Serving Angola and the Bloco Democrático to harmonize procedures and the way of working because we have different identities and different political cultures", he explained.

The political platform, formalized in October last year, is led by the leader of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), Adalberto da Costa Júnior, and is supported by the leader of PRA-JÁ Servir Angola, Abel Chivukuvuku, and the Bloco Democrático, Filomeno Vieira Lopes, and was created to overthrow the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA, in power) in the next general elections.

"We are going to take the opportunity to inform our representatives in the provinces, to collaborate and we are going to find a way to facilitate communication", said Abel Chivukuvuku, indicating that a specific person will be proposed to be in direct contact with the organization and be able to make the necessary hits.

Abel Chivukuvuku considers that the FPU presents "the biggest challenges" for the MPLA and that there must be competition, but leaving aside "the culture of permanent demonization" and the "manipulation" of citizens.

"If we don't have pluralism, how are we going to build democracy," he concluded.

Angola has scheduled general elections in the second half of August this year.
