The signing of the agreement took place at the Talatona Convention Center (Luanda), having initialed the documents, Filomeno Vieira Lopes, president of the Democratic Bloc, Abel Chivukuvuku of the PRA JÁ Servir Angola political project and the president of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), Adalberto da Costa Júnior who will head the electoral platform.
The United Patriotic Front presented itself as an 'ad hoc' electoral political platform that brings together all collective or individual national citizens, inside or outside Angola, to carry out the democratic alternation of political power.
The Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) has governed Angola since its independence in 1975.
According to the agreement signed this Tuesday, the political parties and organizations that will run for the general elections maintain their own identity, with the platform being led by Adalberto da Costa Júnior, co-assisted by Abel Chivukuvuku, who was also a UNITA leader, and Filomeno Vieira Lopes.
The deputies to the National Assembly elected by the provincial constituencies and the national constituency of the Front elect consensus among the members of their parliamentary group as the cornerstone of their conduct, says the same document.
The platform establishes the form of pre- and post-electoral cooperation for the 2022 general elections and will govern its political conduct on the basis of the foundational agreements of parliamentary influence, government program and pact for state reform.
