According to António Félix Kialungila, provincial director of Zaires for Registries and Administrative Modernization, along with citizens living in the country, the brigades will also register national citizens residing in DRC territory.

Cited by Angop, the official mentioned the possibility of mobile teams traveling to areas of difficult access, using motorcycles, off-road cars and boats.

The official explained that nationals residing outside the country should register at embassies and consulates, however, residents in Central Congo have presented some complications in going to Matadi for this purpose.

"Being in a foreign country, this exercise should only be carried out in embassies, diplomatic missions and consulates. In the case of the province of Zaire, national citizens residing in Congo Central had difficulties traveling to the city of Matadi (DRC) for the update. of their electoral data", he explained, speaking to Angop.

"So we were authorized to serve these compatriots, through posts to be created in the border areas," he added.

In this sense, the official informed that posts will be established in the regions of Kimpemba, Malele and Minga, which will provide assistance to nationals living in Kuilo Ngongo, Songololo and Kimpesi, in the DRC.

Angolan Armed Forces, Border Guard Police, Migration and Foreigner Service and Criminal Investigation will be involved in the activity of these posts, he said.

Regarding the survey of the number of Angolans in the DRC who are expected to update their data, the official indicated that so far around 2000 have been identified in the Kuilu Ngongo, adding that this survey is still in progress: "The survey of these compatriots continues eager to participate in the biggest party of democracy in our country. We only have data from the border towns of Minga and Malele".

António Félix Kialungila also informed that Angolans who use these posts to register must show valid documents of Angolan nationality.

The unofficial voter registration process started on 23 September last year and ends at the end of this month.
