Faustino Minguês, who was assessing three hours of torrential rain, said that four people have died and three are reported missing.
The official also said that due to the rains, some rainwater retention and containment basins overflowed, and there was also a record of the fall of electricity poles and seven trees, some of them on vehicles.
The spokesman for the Civil Protection and Fire Service stressed that the obstruction of the water lines, due to the amount of solid waste carried by the waters, forced the firefighters to open some lines for the passage of the water retained in roads and homes.
