Vaccination of elderly and at-risk patients starts Tuesday at the Paz Flor Tourist Complex

The announcement was made by the Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta: the vaccination of elderly people with comorbidities will start this Tuesday, in the province of Luanda.

The vaccination process, which will take place throughout the week and in parallel with that of health professionals, will have to call the Vaccination Center, installed in the Paz Flor Tourist Complex, located in Morro Bento, in the urban district of Maianga. The center has the capacity to vaccinate 6,000 people a day.

According to the holder of the Health portfolio, cited by Angop, the intention is to immunize the age group from 65 years of age and with comorbidities, as they are on the high risk list. The minister also reinforced her confidence in the safety of the vaccine, ruling out possible side effects.

Sílvia Lutucuta also said that there are advanced vaccination teams in the Economic Zone, KM27 and hemodialysis centers, in order to help decentralize the vaccination process.

The vaccination campaign continues, covering health professionals in the first place. In three days of vaccination, about 3000 people were immunized, said the official.

It is known that after Luanda, health professionals from the provinces of Benguela and Cabinda will be vaccinated. These are the three provinces in the country with the highest number of active cases of covid-19.

The Executive's goal is to vaccinate, in a first phase, about 20 percent of the population.
