Covid-19: Angola escapes again. Last seven cases are negative

In a press release, the Ministry of Health announced the results of the last seven suspected cases of Covid-19 in the country. Angola remains free of the disease, for now.

Tests on the group made up of Angolans, Portuguese and Americans will be negative for the contraction of the new coronavirus.

The results were confirmed by the Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta. "All samples processed by the National Institute for Health Research, including from the provinces, are negative", reads the note, cited by Angop.

The statement from the Ministry of Health also contradicts the information circulating on social networks confirming a positive case in the territory. “They return to a false source that is already being investigated by the competent criminal investigation bodies”, says the Health Minister.

The country has so far not registered any positive case of Covid-19, having been made to detect hundreds of suspected cases, mainly of passengers arriving at Luanda International Airport - now with suspended flights - coming from countries considered to be risk.

The Government decided to take exceptional and urgent measures to prevent the pandemic, closing air, land and sea borders, schools, universities and canceling various cultural and religious events. This is a way of preventing the spread of cases, safeguarding the well-being of the population.
