The official, who was speaking on the sidelines of a meeting of local businessmen in Kwanza Norte province as part of the Credit Support Programme, said that in the first two months of 2020 the executive spent 59 million dollars - 29 million in January and 30 million in February - to import 20,000 tons of palm oil.
Mário João, cited by Angop, considered it important to help national production grow, especially palm oil farms. The development of palm oil production in the country would be an asset to Angola's production, but would also help the executive's coffers, since imports of this product would decrease.
"Kwanza Norte has a high potential in the production of many goods, especially in the vegetable and animal sectors, but its current production is below the desired levels and the financing of local small and large companies would help to leverage the region's economy," he said.
