The project, promoted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning in partnership with the Development Bank of Angola (BDA), started this Wednesday. Interested farmers can already apply for sponsorship, and the project will cover 14 provinces.
In a statement, cited by the newspaper Opaís, the agency together with the BDA created teams made up of representatives of the agency, the BDA and consultants to choose the farmers who will receive the funding. However, the note does not specify which requirements will be used to choose the farmers.
However, the Ministry revealed that only farmers of basic basket products will be considered for funding. In addition, the ministry said that a total of 15 farmers in each province will be financed.
The teams are already visiting the provinces this Wednesday to start drawing up a list of possible candidates. Visits will last until March 9, writes the same newspaper.
