Speaking at the opening of the 2025 youth association year, which took place this Wednesday in Luanda, the president of the CNJ, quoted in a CNJ statement to which VerAngola had access, assumed "the commitment to mediate the placement of 50,000 young people in zero-cost and subsidized scholarships for the next academic year".

On the occasion, he said that young people from needy families will be divided among 23 higher education institutions that have signed cooperation agreements with the entity, adding that the objective is to prepare young people to better deal with future challenges.

Regarding the current academic year, Kalunga said that the entity he directs has made 27,408 scholarships available.

Quoted by Angop, the official said that the aim is to train 19 thousand young people per year as technicians and entrepreneurs, within the scope of protocols with the Journalists Training Center and the National Institute of Employment and Professional Training.

Regarding the program's results, the president of the CNJ mentioned that so far 118,303 young people have benefited, of which 17,142 are licensed.

Already mentioned in the CNJ statement, the president of the entity also left a challenge to higher education institutions: Isaías Kalunga "launched the challenge for promoters of universities and higher education institutes" to look at the new provinces "so that there is no brain drain".

He also assured of "better days with the tireless advocacy to be carried out so that Angolan youth, in the chapters of technical-professional training, employment, housing and land for self-construction directed at youth social neighborhoods and credit lines for the promotion of youth entrepreneurship, feel fulfilled with the support of the central executive".

In his speech, among other aspects, he also spoke about housing, informing that since 2020, more than 3000 young people have been sent to acquire houses in state-owned cities, within the scope of the quota made available by the Government to the CNJ, as well as making it known that collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing continues with a view to presenting, in the coming days, the project for the creation of social youth neighbourhoods, to be built in an evolutionary manner on infrastructured plots, writes Angop.

The opening ceremony of the 2025 youth association year was presided over by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, who, on the occasion, "reiterated support for the initiatives carried out by the CNJ, an associative institution that brings together all youth organizations in the country".

The minister, quoted in the CNJ statement, highlighted that "young people will always be the Executive's priorities, which is why it is investing more and more in their training, education, entrepreneurship, and employment in the most varied sectors of society."

The general director of CEFOJOR, Ikuma Bamba, also spoke at the event, urging young people to "make the most of the scholarships available, highlighting that only by investing in training will they be able to change their reality and build a better future".

In addition to the entities mentioned above, the general director of the Angolan Youth Institute, Joaquim Caiombo, the vice-president of the CNJ, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and leaders of youth organizations that are members of the CNJ were also present at the event.
