The Ministry of Health reported that the province of Luanda registered the highest number of cases in the last 24 hours, with 97 infected, in addition to deaths with six of the seven deaths.
Also in the last 24 hours, 149 people were discharged and 193 cholera patients remain hospitalized.
In total since the beginning of the outbreak, Luanda leads the number of cases with 2620 infected, followed by the provinces of Bengo with 1906, Icolo and Bengo with 593, Malanje with 42, Cuanza Sul with 29, Huambo with nine, Huíla with seven, Zaire with five, Cabinda with three, Cuanza Norte and Uíge with two each and Cunene with one.
Regarding deaths, Luanda recorded the most deaths with 92 of the 97 registered.
The most affected age group is 2 to 5 years old, with 814 cases and 31 deaths, followed by the age group 10 to 14 years old, with 664 cases and 13 deaths.
The outbreak of cholera, an infectious disease associated with poor hygiene conditions, precarious sanitation and poor water quality, was detected by authorities on January 7 this year, in Luanda.
