This protocol is intended to train 630 Angolan health professionals, including 200 doctors, 200 nurses, 200 diagnostic technicians and 30 hospital support technicians.
At the end of the document signing ceremony, which took place this Tuesday, and to which
Representatives from both ministries and members of the Angolan diplomatic corps accredited in Portugal were present. The Angolan minister highlighted that "the implementation of this project is an important contribution to strengthening the Angolan Health System, as it will allow the training and technical specialization of professionals from different areas of the sector".
In turn, the Portuguese Minister of Health said that "cooperation with Angola is a priority for the Portuguese Government". "We believe we can go further, because there is still a lot to learn about the organization of healthcare provision, management models and how we evaluate them."
At the end of the ceremony, Silvia Lutucuta invited her Portuguese counterpart to visit Angola "as soon as possible", and it was agreed that the trip would take place before next May.
