The information was transmitted by the Minister of the Interior, Manuel Homem, who, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), announced that the process has now been concluded and that the 3,000 selected candidates will be announced on Wednesday.
“This process is complete, by Wednesday of this week the SME will publish the results in its internal services. The public information we can provide is that, of the more than 5,000 candidates, only 3,000 passed the reassessment and we hope to conclude this process as soon as possible”, stated the minister.
At the end of January, the authorities arrested the director of the general director's office and the head of the Human Resources department of the SME, for alleged crimes of criminal association, undue receipt of benefits and passive corruption due to strong evidence of involvement in a fraudulent scheme of irregular classification of candidates in the institution.
The minister also said that the national operational situation “is stable”, highlighting that the bodies of the Ministry of the Interior remain committed to reducing crime.
In this work to combat large and small crimes, he highlighted actions to combat fuel smuggling, illegal mineral exploration and cryptocurrency mining.
