Felipe VI, who is on the second day of his visit to Angola this Wednesday, spoke at the opening of the Angola-Spain business forum, which was also attended by the President, João Lourenço.

According to the Spanish monarch, Angola and Spain have been cooperating in various areas for several years, from electrical infrastructure to university education, health, transport, geology, water treatment, fishing, information technology, tourism and industry.

Spanish companies, continued King Felipe VI, can support Angola's National Development Plan with their experience, professionalism, and can generate better results in the short, medium and long term.

"Angola has gone through a very complicated period in economic terms in recent years. From a context, in 2018, of deep recession, with oil prices at historic lows, due to the agreement with the IMF and the implementation of a strict macroeconomic stabilization program", recalled Felipe VI, also highlighting Angola's progress in cleaning up public accounts, lower inflation and a balanced balance of payments, as well as stable international reserves.

The Spanish head of state underlined that Angola has always been important to Spain, stressing its enormous cultural and social wealth.
