The announcement was made on Saturday, February 18, by the Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Pereira Furtado, according to a statement from the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), which VerAngola had access to.
According to the Minister of State, work on the three hospital units will start between February 28 and March 6.
Speaking at the reopening ceremony of the emergency bank at the Multiperfil clinic, Francisco Pereira Furtado said that the construction of the new hospitals "aims at providing better health service conditions to the military, in particular, and to the population, in general", reads in the statement.
The minister also took the opportunity to announce, for July of this year, the inauguration of works on the emergency building of the Main Higher Institute Military Hospital and, in August, "the laying of the first stone for the construction of the new Military Hospital in the area of the military field do Grafanil, in Luanda".
With regard to the Multiperfil clinic, the official "advented that, in the next two years, it will have remodeled and properly equipped structures that will help in the provision of dignified assistance", completes the statement.
According to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), the emergency bench at the aforementioned clinic has a capacity of 250 beds, with inpatient services, surgeries, emergencies, five offices, among others.
The general director of the Multiperfil clinic, Belmiro Rosa, indicated that in this phase, which they call emergency, the works are budgeted at around four billion kwanzas: "For this phase, which we call emergency, it is budgeted at four billion and 816 thousand, it is around four billion", he said, quoted by RNA.
"Within this amount we have already managed to build the emergency bank that was opened, we managed to build the molecular biology laboratory, the kitchen infrastructure, the cafeteria, we are now building a house for the security staff", added Belmiro Rosa, cited by RNA.
