According to the IPCN, the year-on-year variation registered, in January 2023, a decrease of 15.11 percentage points in relation to the same previous period (January 2022), with a deceleration of 1.31 percentage points when compared to the previous month .
In monthly terms, says the Quick Information Sheet (FIR) of INE, the price index registered a variation of 0.83 percent between December 2022 and January 2023.
Comparing the monthly variations, there was a deceleration of 0.04 percentage points, a reduction also registered in year-on-year terms (January 2022 to January 2023) with 1.17 percentage points.
The "clothing and footwear" class was the one that registered the biggest price increase compared to the previous month, with a variation of 1.77 percent. Also worthy of note are the increases in prices verified in the classes: "health" with 1.69 percent, "goods and services" with 1.19 percent and "leisure, recreation and culture" with 1.12 percent.
Zaire (1.09 percent), Namibe (1.07 percent) and Cunene (1.03 percent) are the Angolan provinces that registered the greatest change in prices in that period.
The provinces that recorded the lowest variation in prices were Moxico with 0.70 percent, Cuando-Cubango with 0.72 percent and Bengo with 0.75 percent.
