Eni announces start of oil production in Ndungo, offshore

Italian oil company Eni announced the start of production at the Ndungu “Early Production” (EP) development project, in deep waters off Angola, where production is expected to reach 20,000 barrels of oil per day.

In a statement, Eni announces the start of the Ndungu EP development project in the western part of Block 15/06, offshore Angola, through the floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO) Ngoma.

"The start-up of Ndungu EP is yet another example of how Eni Angola, in full cooperation with the National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) and partners, continues to create value in Block 15/06 (...), generating a network of fast submarine connections, thus maximizing the use of existing facilities in the area in a sustainable way", reads the note from the Italian oil company.

The Ndungu EP, with an expected production of 20,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd), is Eni Angola's third start-up in Block 15/06 in the last seven months, after the Cuica "Early Production" and the Cabaça development project. North.

For the first half of this year, the oil company plans a new exploration and design campaign with the aim of evaluating the full potential of the Ndungu asset.

Block 15/06 is operated by Eni Angola with a share of 36.84 percent. Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção (36.84 percent) and SSI Fifteen Limited (26.32 percent) make up the remaining Contractor Group.

Eni is also the operator of the Cabinda Norte, Cabinda Centro, 1/14 and 28 exploration blocks, as well as the New Gas Consortium (NGC), in addition to holding interests in other blocks.
