According to a note made available on Facebook by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, the country "was represented at the event by the ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Albino Malungo, Estêvão Pedro, MIREMPET consultant for Oil and Gas and Sérgio Congo attaché in the UAE".
The summit took place under the motto "Natural Gas: Shaping the Future of Energy", having brought together some of the main producing and exporting countries of natural gas.
According to the note, at the end of the event, a declaration was created that recalled "the Declarations of the GECF Summits held in Doha, State of Qatar, in 2011; Moscow, Russian Federation, in 2013; Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran, in 2015; Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Plurinational State of Bolivia, in 2017; and Malabo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea, in 2019".
Furthermore, the document also reaffirmed the absolute and permanent sovereign rights of member countries over the gas resources available to the GECF "to develop their natural gas resources for the benefit of both producers and consumers".
The note also mentions that the declaration also recognized the "central role of natural gas in meeting the world's energy needs and in achieving all the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular in ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable energy." and modern for all" as well as the positive tributes of the ecological and correct use of gas to improve air quality and mitigate and adapt to climate change in accordance with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement.
The summit also pledged to promote natural gas as "an abundant, affordable, clean and reliable source of energy".
