The official indicated that for the time being the necessary conditions are being prepared to move forward with the tender. For this purpose visits are being made to the field to understand what are the local concerns that the government should take into account.

Cited by Angop, Carlos Borges explained that the Government "wants credible and solid companies with know how and investment capacity, which can also bring other agents to the national market".

The Secretary of State for Transport, who was speaking at the end of a visit to the port company, also made it known that there are already several companies interested in participating in the tender, but did not provide further details or reveal the name of the companies that have shown interest.

During his visit, Carlos Borges also evaluated, along with Celso Rosas, president of the board of directors of the port, the port budget for this year, the port planning plan, among other management strategies.

"We have to do a rigorous management of resources and if these do not exist, there is an obligation to rationalize costs and reuse existing means, in order to ensure that investments are definitely profitable," he explained.

The head of the maritime department, Ernesto Muato, took the opportunity to reveal that the Secretary of State for Transportation, during his visit, also witnessed the launching of a speedboat recovered by the company's technicians that had been inoperative for eleven years.

Named "Calotrigo", the speedboat will be used for pilot transportation for loading and unloading ships and for maneuvers of mooring cables at the pier, among others.
