"On Tuesday, July 1, the Cajueiros Hospital received hospital equipment and resources, as a result of the partnership established between the Provincial Government of Luanda and the American Schools of Angola group, which, in turn, also has partnerships with the Houston-Luanda Twinning Associations and the National Union of Visual Artists (UNAP)," the Luanda provincial government reported in a statement to which VerAngola had access.

Crutches, examination tables, walkers, among others, were some of the resources donated to the hospital this Tuesday.

"Among the various resources donated by the association, the following stand out: crutches, examination tables, walkers, IV kits, surgical drapers, oxygen cylinders, among others, thus beginning a series of twinnings between the Luanda provincial government and the city of Houston, with a view to donating goods intended to contribute to the strengthening of the province's health system," the statement states.

On the occasion, Daniel Café, head of the Cajueiros hospital unit, considered that this equipment "will reinforce the technical and operational capacity of the hospital".

According to the doctor, "everything will be done to ensure the best use of the resources for the benefit of the community of the municipality".

According to the statement, the event was attended by the Secretary of State for the Territory, Teresa Quivienguele, the Vice-Governor for the Political and Social Sector, Manuel António Gonçalves, the President of the American Schools of Angola, Marcos Agostinho, the representative of the Provincial Health Office, Elisío Luxindo, the representative of the administrator of the municipality of Cazenga, Francisco Sobré and the president of the Houston-Luanda Twinning Association, Gail Mebane.
