According to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health, the new cases were reported in Luanda (38), Cabinda (5), Huila (5), Zaire (5), Bié (1) and Cuando Cubango (1), aged between 10 months and 74 years.
There were 32 males and 23 females.
The death, an 86-year-old Angolan, occurred in Luanda, while 17 people recovered from the disease, aged between 22 months and 55 years.
The laboratories processed 1013 samples, for a total of 390,736 analyses.
Angola totals 20,695 cases since the start of the pandemic, of which 502 have died, 19,238 have recovered and 955 are in the active phase of the disease.
The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,498,003 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 112.5 million cases of infection, according to an assessment made by the French agency AFP.
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
