According to a UNICEF communiqué, the document formalizes the technical cooperation of the two institutions in the GSB field.

The memorandum of understanding aims to promote platforms for dialogue within the GSB, with the elaboration of debate and educational events, as well as the elaboration of studies and analyses that provide a greater understanding of the premises of the public GSB.

The Ministry of Finance and UNICEF agree to provide cooperation for the development and publication of content on policies and programs to promote and advance the rights of children, youth and women in particular, through the exchange of experiences, sharing of knowledge in their common efforts to support the Government and the Angolan population, through communication actions, institutional and human capacity building, joint communication and advocacy projects, as well as the elaboration of studies and analyses that strengthen the sustainable and inclusive development of Angola.

For UNICEF representative in Angola, Ivan Yerovi, cited in the note, the formalization of this partnership represents a positive step for citizen participation in the country's public finances, reinforcing the United Nations organization's commitment, in its work with the Government and civil society, "to promote greater participation in the different stages of the GSB, in order to improve the level of quality of social investment, especially those that directly impact the development of children and two communities.

"The scope of this cooperation also includes technical contributions to the budget and consultation with civil society and the preparation of studies and analyses focusing on finance and social development," says the press release.
